Ecosystem Overview

Retainer Partnership

Ongoing monthly work on the same redesign job: domains, interfaces, and architecture with your engineers until growth stays profitable.

Get Started

Retainer Partnership

Retainer Partnership is Beamer consulting on a monthly cycle. Same job as Sprint Engagement: make change cheaper in the system you already run. The difference is continuity, not a different kind of work.

What the Retainer Partnership is for

Choose this when the product stays infeasible until expensive structure is redesigned over time, and leadership wants steady progress with the client’s engineers:

  • Domains and interfaces: Keep identifying seams and clarifying boundaries as the system evolves.
  • Architectural changes: Propose and implement changes that make shipping and maintenance cheaper.
  • Scale by subtraction: Remove structure that burns margin. Do not grow a second platform that needs its own maintenance army.

How the partnership works

The collaboration runs on monthly cycles.
Each cycle includes:

  • Allocated advisory and implementation hours
  • One strategy session
  • Priority communication
  • Weekly progress notes
  • A monthly summary report

Work is scoped inside the retainer and delivered according to agreed priorities.
A bounded burst can move into a Sprint Engagement when a fixed window is enough.

What you receive

  • Continuity on the redesign of the system you already run
  • Clear visibility through structured reporting
  • Faster decisions on what to remove or reshape next
  • A single point of contact for the consulting work

When to choose retainer vs sprint

Select Retainer Partnership when:

  • Expensive structure spans more than one engagement window
  • Priorities shift and you need a steady redesign rhythm
  • You want ongoing joint work with your engineers, not a one-off burst

If a bounded window is enough, use the Sprint Engagement instead.
